Individual, Couple and Psychosexual Therapy
Couple Therapy
We all experience difficulties in our relationships sometimes. Couples come to therapy for many different reasons. You may be worried about communication, infidelity, conflict, parenting, fertility difficulties or sex. You might be thinking about separating or wanting help to work through a challenge or strengthen your relationship.
Couple therapy can offer a safe, non-judgemental space for you each to express yourselves and think together about the dynamics in your relationship. If you feel stuck and unable to find a way forward, couple therapy can help you find a different way.
Facing and working through difficulties in your relationship requires commitment and curiosity. Couple therapy often feels challenging, stirring up complex feelings. Understanding more about each other may allow you to see each other and your relationship differently.
Individual Therapy
Individual therapy offers a confidential space for you to explore thoughts and feelings which may be troubling you, providing space for you to work things through and develop. People come to therapy for many different reasons. You may be feeling unhappy, lost, anxious, distressed or struggling with relationship issues, self-esteem or negative thoughts.
Individual psychotherapy can help explore what underlies your feelings and how your past experience and relationships have influenced you.
Facing and working through difficult feelings requires commitment and psychotherapy can sometimes feel challenging. As you explore your experiences you may come to understand yourself more and develop new ways of relating and living your life.
Psychosexual Therapy
Psychosexual therapy is a specialist form of psychotherapy that focuses on sexual function, desire, intimacy, identity and relationships. Sex therapy can be helpful whether difficulties are lifelong or linked to specific life events. Together we work to understand the underlying causes of sexual concerns, reduce anxiety and shame around sex and explore ways to support greater connection to your body, confidence and sexual wellbeing.
“The meeting of two personalities is like the contact of two chemical substances: if there is any reaction, both are transformed.”

FAQs
How it Works
You can contact me via phone or email, and I will respond within 24 hours to arrange a brief 10-15 minute telephone conversation with you. During this call we can think about why you are seeking therapy and the kind of help you are looking for.
If it feels like the right way forward, we will arrange a time for an initial face-to-face or online consultation.
Initial Consultation
Starting psychotherapy is a commitment. Our initial consultation is an opportunity to think in depth together and decide whether working together on an ongoing basis feels right.
Finding the right therapist can take time and I may suggest that we meet for a number of initial sessions before you decide whether you would like to start regular therapeutic work.
Ongoing Therapy
Ongoing therapy sessions take place at the same time each week online or at my consulting room in Brighton. This helps to create a safe and reliable therapeutic environment to ‘frame’ our work together.
Once we make the decision to start working together in regular therapy, I make a commitment to keep our agreed appointment time available for you every week. This means that I will also ask you to pay for missed sessions, as they are kept open for you even in your absence.
I understand that family or work commitments can sometimes get in the way of a session time. Wherever possible, I will try to offer a replacement session during the same week at no additional cost, but unfortunately this might not always be possible.
If I cancel a session, you will, of course, not be charged.
Fees
The fee for the initial consultation and ongoing regular sessions is £60 for individuals and £90 for couples.
Once we make the decision to start working together in regular therapy, sessions are invoiced at the beginning of each calendar month.
How long will therapy take?
I do not usually set an end date to therapy. When you feel the time has come to end your therapy, I will suggest that we agree a date to end the work, so that we can review progress and look towards the future.
For different reasons, some clients prefer to have an end date in mind when starting therapy. We will be able to think about this in our initial consultation.
